here’s a moment of fearless lunacy from Chrysler: the Plymouth Prowler. having debuted in 1997, the Prowler jumpstarted the retro movement among US automakers that ultimately gave birth to such monstrosities as the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chevrolet HHR and Chevrolet SSR as well as more sensible creations like the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger.

that said, i think the Prowler looks absolutely fantastic. its curves exude menace and its open wheels distract the eye from the garish plastic bumpers required by vehicle safety standards. Chrysler did a pretty good job with this one, i think

it’s just too bad that they followed it up with the PT Cruiser.
